Looks like we had another crash, its back up as of Feb 20th. Monitoring closely as I can.

that why server is down ? How many longtime did we wait ?

The server is having trouble but its up as of right now, Feb 20th
Im monitoring closely to see what I can do to mitigate further issues within reason.

Hey everyone, sorry for the delay. server_status@thezogcabal.com is indeed the fastest way to give me a heads up about the server.  That being said I have turned on notifications for this thread, I  hope that helps.

Sorry for the delay but there were issues with the VM the server runs on. This happens from time to time but I will be monitoring the status over the next few days closely.

Hey Crimson!

There have been ZERO changes to treasure maps. You are currently on a bad RNG (random number generator) streak. Keep it up and you should get some cloaks. If this issue persists another 10-20 chests then let me know. Perhaps there is something wrong with system time on the VM but it appears to be updating.

I let the first implementation run over the last week while I was out of town. It appears to have detected three server crashes and automatically rebooted the server. I will continue to monitor this process over the next few months but right now it seems solid.

I am currently working on a process monitor for the cloud VM that runs the server these days. Moving to the cloud had decreased downtime DRAMATICALLY but there are still instances where the ultima server crashes and the VM does not relaunch the service. Further more since the server does not run locally I dont know about it unless its reported or I cant log in.

In the coming days I will deploy a new program to monitor the ultima six online server health and automatically relaunch the server in cases of fatal error or close. I hope this will bring down time to near 0. I will report back when it's deployed

Server appears to be down again.  Check on this soon.

The VM hosting the server in the cloud is back up. Apologies this happened while I was on vacation. Please know the quickest way to inform me of connection issues it to send an email to server_status@thezogcabal.com
I am constantly working with our host to get service up time to 99.99%

this may take some trial and error on my part and i'm not sure if it will be worth it long run financially. But It looks like the VM in the cloud shut down while I was on vacation. pretty much the exact thing i'm trying to avoid. Its back up now.

The server has now shut down. It will take some time for the DNS record to propagate. Please stand by. You may attempt to connect every few moments but Id say give it a few hours.

In a few moments i'm going to move all saves and game data to a cloud virtual machine with 99% uptime.

We will experiment with this for a few days to asses stability. This should mitigate issues when my computer explodes or there is a power outage or the server shuts down when I'm on vacation. Please report any issues in this thread.

Window size cannot be increased. I spent a lot of time trying and i could not make this feature.

you can have multiple accounts with the same char name. Many do it.

Hello everyone im in a really tough spot.  After playing last night, when I went to start up the game today, i found that anytime i would press Journey Onward, the game would stall on the start menu.  some of they key commands like talk and quit will still work and i would see one or two of the display UI tiles on the screen, but the page is still the main U6O screen and the menu music still plays!  I tried creating a new character but it would not advance past the first screen to the Gypsy woman part.  I seem to be stuck in the menu area and cant get into the game at all!  Can anyone advise me?

From time to time, but not often, the server will crash. Usually a bug is reported and its fixed. What crashed the server last time will probably never happen again. your save should be restored and you should be able to play. See the sticky thread SERVER STATUS next time something like this happens.
